UK sanctions Mikhail Gutseriyev for support of Belarus

LONDON, Aug 9 (PRIME) -- The U.K. has put Russian businessman Mikhail Gutseriyev on the blacklist for supporting the government of Belarus, according to an order seen by PRIME on Monday.

The motivation part of the statement says that Gutseriyev is one of the key private investors in Belarus and a long-standing ally of President Alexander Lukashenko.

The E.U. slapped sanctions on the businessman in June.
